Friends of Organic Roots Schoolhouse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mission, growth, and sustainability of Organic Roots Schoolhouse in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Our purpose is to ensure that every child in our rural community—and beyond—has access to joyful, personalized, nature-connected education. We help provide the tools, structures, and resources that make it possible for Organic Roots Schoolhouse to thrive and expand its impact.
Whether through fundraising, community partnerships, or building new SEED Classrooms, Friends of Organic Roots exists to grow this movement of whole-child, outdoor-centered learning.

To support accessible, innovative, and student-centered education in rural communities through nature-based learning and community-rooted initiatives.
Current Focus:
We are currently fundraising to build two yurt classrooms that will allow Organic Roots Schoolhouse to serve over 40 additional students and launch age-specific learning groups. These yurts will help bring SEED Classrooms (Scalable Education for Emerging & Evolving Development) to life.

At Organic Roots Schoolhouse, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, explore, and thrive—regardless of their family's financial situation. Through our nonprofit, Friends of Organic Roots Schoolhouse, we are raising funds to make that dream a reality for more families.
We currently have five eager students on our scholarship waitlist—children whose families are committed to interest-led, nature-based learning but need a helping hand. Your donation helps bridge that gap, offering a child the opportunity to experience the magic of SEED Classrooms: where learning feels like belonging.
At the same time, we're working to expand our reach through the construction of two yurt classrooms, nestled in the woods and designed to support developmentally grouped, flexible learning spaces for preschool through fifth grade. Your generosity supports both access and expansion.

🌿 $40 covers one full day of learning for a child
🌿 $173/month supports one child’s tuition for a full school year (1 day/week, Sept–May)
🌿 $1,560 sponsors one child’s full tuition
